HTC Universal UMTS phone

HTC Universal UMTS phone
Introduction
High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC) announced their new UMTS pocket PC phone called Universal. HTC Universal is first windows mobile 5.0 based UMTS device with an innovative form factor and productive features.
Features
After a basic look at the ergonomics of HTC Universal, it seems to be a mini laptop. When you twist it and fold it, it becomes a balanced pocket PC. Its dual form factor could be said as an enhance version of Motorola Mpx but there is a lot more in it. Internally, HTC Universal is providing extreme rich set of features. HTC Universal supports GSM/GPRS alongwith UMTS; furthermore, there is wifi and bluetooth support. One can switch to any available network or any better network at a time. HTC Universal is equipped with Intel 520 Mhz XScale processor with 128Mb RAM and 96Mb ROM and expandable SD memory slot.
HTC Universal is providing a big 640x480 pixel screen. Furthermore, due to its dual speaker stereophonic sound system, users can enjoy smooth and high-resolution videos at anytime. There are two cameras, one is 1.3 Megapixel for imaging while other is VGA for video call. But both cameras can be used for both purposes. Size and weight are somewhat big i.e. 131.6 X 79 X 21.6 mm 210g but doesnt really stop you from admiring the HTC Universal Pocket PC phone.
Conclusion
HTC Universal got announced in June 2005 and is expected to be released in September 2005. The only question in my mind is HTC Universal's performance while switching between the various networks. This has been a major issue before and I think HTC Universal's future will base over its performance in that scenario. In other words, HTC Universal is something that has everything !
