Introduction
Nokia N70 got announced alongwith other members of Nokia's latest N series i.e. Nokia N90 and Nokia N91. Nokia N70 has a relatively smaller feature set than Nokia N90 and Nokia N91. But, instead of saying Nokia N70 as yet another smartphone, we can say Nokia N70 as the smallest series 60 based UMTS smartphone by Nokia.

Features
Nokia N70 is also said to be a copy of Nokia 6680 UMTS phone. This is more or less true. Thre are some additional features and some features similar but better than Nokia 6680. Nokia N70 is basically a 3G smartphone with dual camera. Nokia N70 has 2 Megapixels camera instead of 1.3 as in Nokia 6680. Additionaly, there is 30Mb built-in memory and RS-MMC slot to make it a lot better than Nokia 6680.
Nokia N70 is able to play both audio and video in various formats. It can record video in real and mpg formats. If all models of Nokia N series are compared, you will find a slimmer, smarter and lighter look in Nokia N70 i.e. 109 x 53 x 18 mm and 126 grams. There is a huge group of people who have size and weight at their first priority.

Conclusion
Nokia N70 has many possitive sign to get a hit. This includes a nice combination of UMTS with series 60 symbian OS and smaller size lighter weight. Although, Nokia N70 didnt bring some new innovation as Nokia N91 brought 4Gb hard disk, Nokia N70 brought 3rd party optics. But mp3 is there with expandable memory, 2MP camera is there with all UMTS features. Nokia N70 is expected to be released in 3rd Quarter of 2005. No word about the price. An EDGE version is also expected to be released.
