Since the releases from last couple of months, it seems that cellphones are seriously considering to remove ipods/mp3 players etc. Samsung has already revealed their cellphone with a hard disk, motorola has released e725 music phone, Sonyericsson has announced w800 walkman phone. Nokia which is number one in market share (30% according to latest stats) is not behind either. Nokia has announced N91, the most prominent in Nokia's latest N series. Lets discuss the features and abilities of Nokia N91.

The most prominent feature of Nokia N91 is the presence of a 4Gb internal hard disk. This lets you save upto 3000 tracks in standard format into your cellphone. Every other feature is there to have the best use of that space. Now you can plug any standard headphones into your Nokia N91. A lot of format such as mp3, wma, acca etc are supported. You can have custom playlists and folder according to the type of media you have. Furthermore, there are lot of input options such as direct usb, bluetooth and most important wireless lan i.e. 802.11 b, 802.11 g. I think, presence of 802.11g is a great milestone in this field. You could also record music from a line-in connector, mic, FM radio etc. Hence, nothing seems to be left behind in Nokia N91. There are a lot of options to manage and share your music in Nokia N91. The mp3 functions are also applicable in sim free or flight mode.

Apart from capabilities, stability of the cellphone in normal use could also be considered as an important factor in deciding the fate.If mechanical hard disk got stable as flash media then it could bring wonders to cellphones while further increasing the space and reducing the price. Nokia N91 is expected to be released by the end of 2005. Price is expected to be around 700 Euro.
