Introduction
At 3GSM conference Feb 2005, Sonyericsson showed k600 for the UMTS market. Normally
UMTS handsets are bulkier and bigger; but this one is not with its elegant
aluminum look and feel. Size and weight of Sonyericsson k600 is at the level of 2G handsets.
Apart from WCDMA / UMTS, is also compatible with all GSM modes. Lets discuss its main features.

Features
Sonyericsson k600 comes up with almost all the features of a UMTS and a fashion cellphone. There are two cameras, one at front for video conferencing and one at back i.e. 1.3 megapixel camera for digital imaging. The screen is rich with 176 x 220 pixel TFT screen
comprising of 262k color screen.
As far as fun features are concerned; FM radio is present, it can be used as an mp3 player. 3D games are supported and a 3D golf game is also built into it.
Memory is still an issue. 37Mb is available to user but there is no slot to expand the memory. In my opinion,
absence of a extendible memory slot is the major shortcoming.
Furthermore, all other business, PIM and sharing features are present that has to be in a
UMTS cellphone of such class.

Price and Release
Sonyericsson k600 is a great addition to the UMTS market. Still there is no word about the price. It is expected to be released in 3rd quarter of 2005.
